Locomondo – ‘Liubi, Liubi, I Love You’ will represent Romania at ESC 2007!

Locomondo will represent Romania in the Final of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest on 12th May with the song Liubi, Liubi, I Love You.
In the final, there were eight entries, from the nine remained in contest, as the bands Morandi and Wassabi, previously qualified with the song “Crazy”, were not present in competition.

The group Locomondo received 11,243 votes in the televoting and finished with 22 points, five points more than the runner-up. The winners of the national final were designated by the vote of the professional jury (50%) and by televoting (50%), Saturday evening, in a show broadcast live on TVR 1.

The professional jury was made up of: Titus Andrei (radio journalist), Mirela Fugaru (lyricist), Horia Moculescu (songwriter), Cristian Faur (songwriter), Mihai Georgescu (soloist of a Romanian boy-band ­ Bere gratis), Sorin Vasile (member of the Romanian band Parlament) and Ionuţ Radu (songwriter).

The score granted by the professional jury and by the public for the eight songs was as follows:

1. Liubi, Liubi, I Love You – Locomondo: 10 points from the jury, 12 points from televoting (total: 22 points);
2. Where Were You – Desperado and Tony PoptămaÅŸ: 12 points from the jury, 5 points from televoting (total: 17 points);
3. Time – IonuÅ£ Ungureanu (Provincialii): 7 points from the jury, 10 points from televoting (total: 17 points; with the same score as the song classified on the second place, while the song Where Were You got 4 scorings of 12 points from the jury, in comparison with Time, that didn´t get any scoring of 12 points from the jury);
4. European, a Beautiful Sin – Desperado and Tony PoptămaÅŸ: 8 points from the jury, 8 points from televoting (total: 16 points);
5. No podre vivir – Marcel Pavel: 6 points from the jury, 7 points from televoting (total: 13 points);
6. Dulce-amăruie – Nico: 4 points from the jury, 6 points from televoting (total: 10 points);
7. Nu pot să uit – Tibi Scobiola: 5 points from the jury, 4 points from televoting (total: 9 points);
8. Deci 20 – Trupa veche: 3 points from the jury, 3 points from televoting (total: 6 points);
9. Crazy – Morandi & Wassabi: 0 points, by absence.

The 22 points of the song composed by Marian Bogdan Taşcău (Mister M) grant the plane ticket to Finland for the six interpreters: Marian Bogdan Taşcău (Mister M), Andrei Ştefănescu, Ghedi Kamara, Vlad Creţu, Ciro de Luca and Valeriu Răileanu.

  6. in caz de esec…adik necalificarea automata in finala din 2008,care va avea loc in Moldova..(ascultati fratzilor melodia lor….edy_steaua_2006..dak vreti sa luati aminte..)))dan manoliu a fost de vina..!!!si a batut joc de munca luminitei si a lui mihai….in caz contrar scuze d-le manoliu!!

  9. uuff… why??? they have no voice!! c’mon, Romania has better than that! its like.. Babel tower-mixed up-non sense-lame song!! we r not even gonna go in top 10 with this piece! however.. if it makes it, then the whole world has lost their sense of music..

  10. i from mexico and i think these song ROCKKssssss!! POR el ritmo es nuevo y viejo al a vez,por los diferentes idiomas que hablan , ESTA SUPER , Y pues los integrantes mejor!! and all have an EXCELENT VOICE and the combination of voices they do is EXCELENT!!

  13. Excellent song. Charming and clever. Could make an anthem out of it. I especially like the russian part, it makes me think of my girlfriend. They change the language and the tune to match, and it ends with a crazy ‘romanian’ sarba. Great job and if I could vote from Canada, I would pick them for 1st place.
